About us
Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) is a leading institution of higher learning with a vision to become the university of choice for nurturing professionals who will make a positive impact on the nation.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to UPTM's digital platform, where you can discover our aspirations, accomplishments and the Amazing culture that defines our university community.
Established as a full-fledged university in 2023 following the elevation of Kolej Universiti Poly-Tech MARA (KUPTM), UPTM is committed to becoming a leading professional and applied sciences university. We strive to deliver industry-driven education, impactful research and innovation, and meaningful community engagement while nurturing graduates who are knowledgeable, ethical, adaptable and ready to contribute to national and global development. Although we are a young university, UPTM has achieved remarkable milestones through the Amazing commitment of our people and the unwavering support of our stakeholders. Today, we are home to nearly 8,000 students and currently offer 33 academic programmes across Foundation, Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) levels. In 2026, our academic portfolio will expand to 38 programmes, reflecting our continuous pursuit of academic excellence and industry relevance. Our graduates continue to demonstrate outstanding success, achieving an impressive 95% Graduate Employability rate in 2025, reaffirming the quality and impact of a UPTM education.
Our pursuit of excellence has also earned recognition at the regional and international levels. UPTM is proudly ranked 64th among 122 universities in the AppliedHE ASEAN University Rankings, placed within the 801-1000 band of the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, and is a proud member of the ASEAN University Network (AUN). In 2026, UPTM further strengthened its reputation by receiving six prestigious awards: the Laurette Best Brand Award, BISA Sinar Award, B.U.I.L.D.E.R.S Award, Talentbank Award, The Leading Malaysia University Award, and the Best MARA Educational Institution Award.
